Thus the key question is whether the MateBook D 14 with its Intel Core i5, 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM, 512 GB SSD and matte Full HD IPS display is worthy of the aforementioned price, or whether last year's model, which is EUR 200 cheaper and only has 8 GB RAM, manages the balancing act of premium and budget better. The budget-oriented MateBook D series, which includes both office and multimedia laptops, does not include the MateBook 14 from 2021, which now only costs around EUR 100 more than the D 14, but uses a 3:2 touchscreen and so appears somewhat more compact. The price is currently EUR 799, but this may fluctuate due to promotional campaigns. The Huawei MateBook D 14 comes in a slick unibody design and combines premium-class features with budget aspects, which are covered in detail in this review.
